New Name- increased prize money – an Audi for the champion
The incentive for players and the international significance could again be enhanced
The UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi in 2010 must not shrink for the international comparison. Even the first press conference on February 22nd in Munich showed that the players and the spectators can again expect a top-class event.
Held from the 13th until the 16th of May at the course in Gut Haeusern near Munich, this year’s Ladies German Open, one of the most popular tournaments of the Ladies European Tour, will appear with a new name: UniCredit Ladies German Open 2010 presented by Audi. But the demand for the high quality of this prestigious event remains the same. The incentive for the 120 professionals of the LET could again be improved this year. The prize money is increased up to 330.000 €. Besides the winner’s cheque of approx. 50.000 €, the new Ladies German Open Champion will get an additional Audi A5 Convertible. Furthermore Audi will spend an Audi R8 Spyder for the professional who succeeds in a hole-in-one at the 15th hole.

Due to these improvements tournament director Nikolaus Peltzer is in a good mood to attract a similar strong field. A field comprising 48 of the 50 best players of the LET presented ladies golf of the top-class for more than 21.000 spectators last year.

Laura Davies, the most popular British golf player has already confirmed her attendance. She is considered as the most accomplished English female golfer of modern times. She is unique with her participation in all ten Solheim Cup teams since the incention.

After the thrilling battle between Jade Schaeffer from France and Paula Marti Zambrano from Spain last year both players will be keen to repeat their success in 2010.

Also the established tournament ambassador Martina Eberl from Germany will try to live up to the success of  last year’s third place. Besides the German Anja Monke, who will play this tournament for the third time, a new German player will tee up in Gut Haeusern. Caroline Masson, new member of the UniCredit Golf Team won the qualifying school of the Ladies European Tour and makes her debut as a professional at the UniCredit Ladies German Open presented by Audi.

The repeated cooperation with Sky enables all those spectators who cannot experience the event personally to watch the highlights of the tournament daily on TV.
